We love rolling cigar blunts from a variety of cigars – but today at Bud Hut, we’re all about the Backwoods blunt. Backwoods cigars are rolled in tobacco leaves and can be a little tricky to roll since they’re a bit fragile – but the flavor is oh-so-worth it.
Swing by a BudHut location near you to stock up on the freshest marijuana strains for rolling a Backwoods blunt. Plus we’ve got a huge selection of edibles, vape supplies, shatter wax and more if you like to mix up your weed supplies.
Here is one of our favorite marijuana strains for rolling a Backwoods blunt:
Green Rush Blue Dream – 20.5-21.6% THC – starts at $12 for 1g
You’ll need weed, a weed grinder, and a Backwoods cigar. You might also use a pot of hot water and some tongs depending on your location.
No seeds or stems allowed! You don’t want them poking through your blunt.
Fire up a teakettle or a pot of water and move the cigar back and forth through the steam – just use caution (or tongs) so you don’t burn your fingers!
If you’re out and about, you can lick the cigar to moisten and loosen the seal. Once you feel the tobacco leaf begin to unseal from itself, you can start to very gently unroll the leaf from the tobacco inside.
Go slow! If you rip the Backwoods cigar while unraveling it, it could rip again later while rolling up the weed. Once the wrap is undone, empty out the tobacco.
Now that the cigar wrap is prepped, you’ll need to moisten the inside as well. Lightly steam or lick the inside of the wrap, and if you’d like, you can steam or lick the outside as well, to ensure an even moisture level throughout.
Spread your weed evenly in the moistened cigar wrap, and pack it full. Roll gently. Tighten, and roll again. You may need to repeat this until you get the blunt just right.
Unless you have some local honey to seal it up with, use more steam – or lick the blunt again to seal it up. Make sure you moisten the last half-inch or more from the end to get a good seal.
Once your blunt has dried – about 10 minutes or so — it’s ready to smoke. Enjoy!
